In November 2015 the Battalion hosted its annual Inter Company Boxing Competition, which involved 11 bouts.  Great courage, strength and agility was on display throughout the night especially by Rfn Quinn who was judged to be the best boxer.  On the Battalion Christmas Day an Inter Company Soap Box Grand Prix was the main event with each company producing human powered racing karts (aided by a very steep hill). In the New Year 3 RIFLES Reconnaissance Platoon deployed to the USA to take part in the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment in Georgia. At the same time B Coy have been preparing for their deployment to the USA on Ex RATTLESNAKE with a final exercise in Brecon.  The rest of 2016 looks set to be very busy for the Battalion with numerous operational and exercise deployments abroad to North America, the Middle East and Africa scheduled to take place.  As the year progresses 3 RIFLES will convert to their new Light Mechanised Infantry role before attending Ex WESSEX STORM in 2017.
