The 4th Battalion The Rifles is part of 1 Armoured Infantry Brigade and based in Aldershot, Hampshire. As a mechanised infantry battalion they have recently deployed on training to Canada, France and America. The Battalion contains a number of excellent shots and two individuals recently won best overall sniper pair at an International Sniping Competition in Australia. The Battalion excels at cricket (Army Champions) and boxing but participates in many other sports. The Battalion has also conducted overseas adventurous training expeditions that have included mountaineering, skiing and luge. In 2016 the Battalion enters a year of Readiness which could see them deploy anywhere in the world at five days’ notice to move.

4 RIFLES Top Sniper Pair Are Best in UK
The 4 Rifles shooting team have produced some excellent results over the past few weeks winning both the 1 Armoured Infantry Brigade and 3 Div Operational Shooting competitions.
Continued success for 4 RIFLES at the 3 (UK) Div Operational Shooting Competition.
Following their first, second and third place finishes at the Brigade OSC, 4 RIFLES sent two sections to the Divisional OSC at Bulford ranges where they faced opposition from 12, 20 and 101 brigade. Awards were won by 4 Rifles A Team, 2nd in March and shoot, 2nd in Section Attack and 2nd overall. 4 Rifles B team came 4th overall.
4 RIFLES beat all teams from 1, 12 and 20 Bde, and were the top infantry unit there.
