1 RIFLES Nordic Ski team winning the Divisional Championships in Les Contamines, France

Last week the 1 RIFLES Nordic Ski team delivered a dominant performance at the Divisional Championships in Les Contamines, France winning all five races. 

Every member of the team exemplified the fitness and marksmanship expected of all Riflemen with outstanding performances coming from LCpl’s Carter and Webber who secured 1st and 2nd overall. Individual success followed with Rfn Jeal winning top Junior Novice and Lt Spence taking the Novice category. 

 The team now looks forward to the British National, Inter Services and Army Championships in Ruhpolding, Germany where they hope to build on their success.

During 2025, Frank Films was embedded with 13 Platoon, D Company, 5 RIFLES, filming a documentary called ‘Platoon 24/7: Preparing for War'.The first episode will be aired on Channel Five on Monday, the 2nd of February at 9 pm, with the following two episodes due to go out in the same time slot on the 9th and 16th February. It will also be available on the C5 streaming platform "Simply 5".Episode 1
