Having celebrated his 97th Birthday in mid-December and enjoyed family Christmas, General Frank died peacefully on 2nd January 2024 at home with loved ones by his side. He is survived by Lady Kitson, their three daughters and seven grandchildren.
The General was commissioned in 1946 into The Rifle Brigade. Serving in Kenya in 1955 he won the Military Cross and, in 1957, in Malaya, a bar to the MC. He commanded 1 RGJ in Cyprus, 39 Brigade in Belfast in 1970, and 2nd Armoured Division in Germany, going on to become C-in-C UK Land Forces in his final military appointment.
