Regular to Reserves - The Rifles
The Army encourages the transfer of personnel into the Army Reserve on their departure from Regular Service.
This information pack explains the process for transferring to the Army Reserves, and specifically The Rifles for those currently serving, or who have recently left Service, including those Regular trainees Discharging As Of Right (DAOR). Transfers will be approved only where there is a service need.
It is possible to transfer and take an ‘agreed’ period of Leave before starting a Reserve career if needed. This provides you with a safety net, making it easier to return to Regular service if your circumstances change.
A cap-badge transfer is possible if you wish to try something different, but you can only do a partial de-kit to retain most of your uniform.
