SITUATION:
Following the success of The Rifles Cadet Cup Competition 2023, Col Comdt RIFLES sees the staging of this competition as a key engagement event with our third pillar; continuing to engage with and strengthen the ties to The Rifles Cadet associations. It is the Regimental intent to host the annualRIFLES Cadet Cup Competition, for affiliated CCF & ACF cadet detachments in 2024. With the aim of continuing to invigorate The Rifles’ connection, commitment, and support to our Cadets. This is to be a Regimental effort to stage this event and full support is to be given to the sponsoring unit.
PLAN:
Mission: The Rifles will host the annual RIFLES Cadet Cup Competition over the period 25 to 29th Sep 2024 on Sennybridge Training Area (SENTA), Area E & Farm 6. This is designated as a safe space for Training to conduct a challenging and enjoyable training opportunity for RIFLES affiliated ACF and CCF organisations. This is an engage to inspire activity to affirm The Rifles commitment to support these organisations. The host unit will be 6 RIFLES, support by other elements from across the Regiment.
Tasks:
• 6 RIFLES lead Bn for planning & provision of Trg Sp to, and delivery of, Cadet Cup Competition 2024
• SO2 Lt Div - Liaison with Cadet Branch HQHC, Regional HQ (160Wales Brigade) for sp as appropriate.
• Liaison with Regional Cadet Trg Team & TSA for sp as appropriate.
• 6 RIFLES, will provide the SPO & ECO for RIFLES Cadet Cup 2024
• Colonel RIFLES Cadets & SO2 Lt Div to have event added to Westminster System through Cadet Branch HC
• RIFLES Bns - Sp to 6 RIFLES as required especially in stand provision and RIFLES Capability Demonstration.
• Lt Div Office HQ Inf & RHQ RIFLES, Financial, Admin & Co Ord sp as required.
• SO2 Lt Div & RHQ Rifles Comms sp comms messaging to ACF/CCFs
• SO2 Lt Div to Co Ord provision of prizes and awards for the Competition.
• SO2 Lt Div to CoOrd sp from SROs for the event.
MAIN EFFORT: Deliver a challenging and fun training & development opportunity for RIFLES-affiliated ACF and CCF cadets.

• CCF phase 25-27 Sep 24 (includes arrivals period prior to event)
• ACF phase 27-29 Sep (includes arrivals period prior to event)
ORDERS: Confirmatory WO from 6 RIFLES to follow. Administration Instruction to be promulgated NLT 30Jul24.
CSS: A detailed CSS plan will be evolved following IPC. Main CSS instruction TFO.
• Armoury, Stores and Accom for Cadets, CFAV and Trg Sp to be indented for at allocated TA.
• Accommodation, Ammunition & Rations to be provided through 7 RIFLES.
• Med Sp to be provided through 7 RIFLES.
• Tpt – CCF & ACF teams attending are to be self-sufficient in Tpt to & from TA.
• Participating ACF & CCF Units are responsible for the provision and transport of their own L98A2 Weapons to and from the event.
• Participating ACF & CCF Units attending are to provide all attending Cadets with issue ear-defence and issued Cadet Bump Helmets.
TEAM COMPOSITION. Each team is to consist of 10 cadets under the following constraints:
• Adult Volunteers (CFAV). Min 2 CFAV per team. 1 CFAV will be required to patrol with the team to maintain command and control throughout. VA days applicable.
• Team. Each team should be Cadets. Cadets should be 1 Star level +. No Cadet over the age of 18. Staff Cadets can attend in support of, but not as a member of the team.
• Pre-requisites:
• Cadets – L98A2 qualified and in date WHT. Min 1 star qualified. PARQ completed.
• CFAVs – L98A2 WHT, RBT and Safeguarding in date. Ideally, First Aid qualified. All drivers must comply with unit MT Standing Orders.
