Riflemen are unique because of the characteristics that makes us who we are!

The Rifles differ from other infantry units in many ways.  

We are the biggest infantry regiment in the British Army and have a UK wide footprint with battalions in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our regiment also offers troops the greatest number of roles, which means a career with us provides more excitement, challenges and adventure. 

We take pride in doing things differently and our Riflemen are unique because of the characteristics that makes us who we are, and as professional soldiers these set us apart from others. 

These characteristics are unique to our Regiment and define our fighting spirit. They are inspired by the example of Sir John Moore, two centuries ago, and we still live by them today. 

Over the coming weeks we will highlight what these characteristics are and demonstrate why our no-nonsense approach to soldiering makes us one of the finest fighting units, forged across many campaigns protecting the nation.
