As you would expect from a Rifle Regiment shooting is in our DNA, and it’s the reason why so much emphasis is placed on the annual RIFLES Operational Shooting Competition.

Over the past week our Regular and Reserve battalions have been competing against one another at Pirbright in a fiercely fought, and tight competition with Riflemen taking part in 14 different Advanced Marksmanship Shoots across 5 Days with rifles and pistols.   

The teams in second and third place fought head-to-head right up to the very last practice to decide the overall runner up and on the penultimate day 6RIFLES threw a score down to tear ahead of 3RIFLES, fording a gap in the team scoring that 3RIFLES could not catch despite a committed final day of firing.
