The 5 RIFLES Junior Non-Commissioned Officer’s Cadre

Yesterday saw the conclusion of the Junior Non-Commissioned Officer’s Cadre which was hosted and run by 5 RIFLES at Ward Barracks, Bulford.

The parade was attended by the battalion’s Royal Colonel, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh and The Rifles Colonel Commandant, who celebrated the successful completion of a challenging and arduous course.

Riflemen from sister battalions also participated and as a result are now eligible for promotion to Lance Corporal. The cadre included rigorous exercises, including the Brecon training area, where the troops faced tough weather conditions and were tested on leadership, navigation, orders, and decision-making under pressure. The top performing Rifleman was honoured with the Cadre Cane.

It is a significant milestone for all the Riflemen and marks the first rank of an NCO. The regiment is incredibly proud of them – Swift and Bold.
