5 RIFLES’ Winning Rugby Team

We take our sport seriously in The Rifles and enjoy competing at the highest levels.  

Many of our troops play either a team or individual sport and several compete at national and Olympic level across a variety of disciplines. 

5 RIFLES’ rugby union team recently ran out as the winners of the Tanakard final in Aldershot, beating 3 PARA 19-15 in front of lively support, after a campaign that saw them also beat 8 Bn REME, the Griffins and the Defence Academy.  

They now go on to rugby 7s through the summer, before looking to the next season in September.
