6 and 8 RIFLES Cambrian Patrol Competition

6 and 8 RIFLES recently entered teams into the arduous Cambrian Patrol Competition, which is widely regarded as one of the most difficult events run by the British Army. Held in Wales each year applications are accepted from all three Services (Regular and Reserve Forces), as well as overseas military units.
It is mission focused and scenario-based with role players used to enhance the training benefit. The competition sees units covering a 65 km course, carrying full personal kit, equipment and weapon weighing 50lbs, in less than 48 hrs, while performing numerous types of military manoeuvres and tests placed throughout the Cambrian Mountains.
All of our Riflemen performed exceptionally well and the regiment is incredibly proud of them. The 6 RIFLES team were awarded the Gold Medal, whilst the 8 RIFLES team the Bronze Medal.
Swift and Bold.
